    SMPS SFBAC Sponsor Spotlight: Enovity

I recently had a chance to touch base with Erin Clinch, Marketing Manager for Enovity, and ask her a few questions about her firm, which is one of our Golden Gate Sponsors.

Tell us about your firm and services.

Enovity, a Veolia company, operates, maintains, and optimizes facilities to assure higher performance places. We offer services in energy efficiency, facilities engineering, commissioning, and smart building solutions as part of our whole-place approach to make buildings work better so that they use less energy and provide healthier environments.

How many years have you been in business?

We were founded in San Francisco in 2002 and have been in business for 16 years.

Could you tell us about some notable projects?

Being headquartered in San Francisco, we have worked on some of San Francisco and the larger Bay Area’s most notable landmarks, such as the newly opened Salesforce Transit Center, the Cruise Ship Terminal, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Oakland Airport Terminal 1 and 2, and the net zero energy San Francisco Airport Admin Complex. We are also commissioning workplaces for three of the “big five” tech firms.

Tell us about some of your firm events.

As a company we sponsor an employee volunteer event around Earth Day every year. This year we were happy to join forces with many other local A/E/C firms to support Urban Releaf in planting trees in Oakland. Several of our staff also volunteer their time in support of student outreach efforts such as those led by ASHRAE Golden Gate Chapter and the Society of Women Engineers.

What differentiates your firm in terms of approach, talent, tools, and values?

We believe that people deserve to live and work in environments that support prosperity. Our core purpose is to make buildings work better so that they consume fewer resources and provide healthier environments for the organizations that rely on them. We do this by supporting our clients through every stage of their facilities’ life cycle, from design, through construction, and into operations and facility management. Some of the innovative techniques we’re employing today include data analytics and machine learning for building energy optimization and predictive maintenance.

How long have you been a sponsor of SMPS?

While this is our first year sponsoring the Chapter, members of our marketing team have been engaged with SMPS as volunteers for more than 5 years

What are some the memorable or key events of SMPS that your firm has been involved with?

Last year’s 2017 Founders’ Awards was probably the most memorable. The event showcased some of the amazing work being done by our peers in the Northern California A/E/C community. We were honored to receive awards for our website redesign (Award of Honor) and new brand (Award of Excellence, Best of Show).
