President’s Message – July 2021
Are We Ready to Return to In-Person Events?
Thank you to everyone who responded to our survey in last week’s email about working from home and returning to in-person events. We had 39 responses. The majority of those that responded are still working from home most days, and there is strong interest in attending both virtual and in-person events as we progress into 2021 and 2022. This data supports our hybrid approach, and we will continue to hold our educational events virtually for the time being, while beginning to plan in-person networking events.
Looking forward to the second half of 2021, our July and October educational events will be held virtually. The July educational event is on the topic of proposals and will include a panel of experts discussing the latest trends in proposal preparation and delivery. Our Annual Business Meeting (ABM) in August will also be virtual. The ABM introduces our new Board of Directors, kicks-off the 2021-2022 year, and celebrates our long-term members.
So, when can you expect SMPS SFBAC’s first in-person event? Look out for information to come in the next couple of weeks on the 2021 Holiday Party. We will be holding it in person and will be coming back with a bang. Our holiday party is always one of the most anticipated and festive events of the year, and we are excited to be able to reconnect and raise a glass with all of you soon.
If you are looking to attend a marketing conference in the next couple of months, SMPS has both virtual and in-person events planned. Build Business 2021 R.I.S.E. takes place virtually on August 4-6. Early bird registration ends July 5! The SMPS Pinnacle Experience will be held in person in New Orleans on October 4-6 and the next Pacific Regional Conference will also be in person January 19-21 in Sacramento.
