    President’s Message – November 2021

Our San Francisco Bay Area Chapter hosted its first in-person event last week since February 2020! It was for the annual Sponsor Appreciation Luncheon. About 30 members from our sponsor firms and board members attended.

We held our luncheon within the partially-outdoors Biada Lounge at Sens restaurant in downtown San Francisco. Attendees came with their vaccination cards (per the City mandate) and also completed the CLEAR Health Pass process confirming their vaccination status and completion of a health survey (per our Chapter’s direction).

Due to the success of the event, we’re looking at hosting in-person events, possibly next month or January to celebrate the holiday season. We’re being extra cautious in our event planning, however, and will continue to host our programs virtually as well.

We have a lot going on right now within our Chapter. Read on for what we have gearing up in 2022.

Sponsor our Chapter for 2022: Our Sponsorship Drive kicked off last month for the new year. As a non-profit organization, we rely mostly on sponsorships (yes, even more than on member fees) to continue to offer all our amazing programs and events. And we like to give back to our sponsors for their commitments. Check out our sponsor benefits, including free tickets to our virtual programs next year.

Enroll in Mentoring Pathways: Are you looking to change a direction in your career? Making a switch from marketing to BD or vice versa or coming from the technical side? Need some guidance on dealing with your current work situation? Want to create new career goals and stretch your wings? These are just some of the reasons why Mentoring Pathways can help you. Enrollment is underway now and will kick off in December.

Join Senior Business Leaders Forum: As an award-winning, members-only program, the Senior Business Leaders' Forum is designed for senior-level members (10+ years marketing and business development positions) who are seeking a peer-based learning experience. We’ve opened up the forum on November 1 for new participants to join and will close registration at the end of the month.

Volunteer on a Chapter Committee:  Volunteering is the best way to network with other members and develop skills that you may not have the opportunity to develop in your current job. We champion a supportive environment in which members collaborate and learn from each other. We even offer micro-volunteering opportunities for members who want to give back but have limited time.

We have also mapped our education programs for 2022!

And if you’re just not sure how to get more involved with our Chapter, please feel free to reach out to me. If there is one thing I have loved most in my presidency so far, it’s these one-on-one interactions.
