    Member Spotlight: Chip Howard

    Where do you work and what is your role?
    I work at Truebeck Construction as the Proposal Manager.

    What led you to the A/E/C industry?
    My passion for graphic design and professional writing led me to the A/E/C industry. I’ve worked in a few different industries creating proposals and designing, but the A/E/C industry allows me to see a lot of my work put into action. Working with builders allows you to create beyond the RFP and have a lasting impression on your community and the clients you work with.

    Why did you join SMPS and/or why do you continue to be a member?
    I joined SMPS so that I can master my skills as a marketing professional.

    Favorite memory of an SMPS event?
    I thoroughly enjoyed attending the PRC conference. It allowed me to network and use my connections as a resource to learn and develop my skills.

    How has 2020-2021 changed you?
    This last year has shown me that we still have a long way to go to diversify the A/E/C industry. I’ve spent the last few years mastering the RFP process, developing creative content, and designing high quality graphics. As a proposal manager I take a lot of pride in my work.

    I look forward to continuing to develop a diverse network of new marketing professionals and serve as a resource for those interested in joining or transitioning to the A/E/C industry.

    Any hobbies?
    In my spare time I enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking, and studying anything from design to finance.
