    Meet the 2022-2023 SMPS San Francisco Bay Area Board of Directors!

    Meet our new Board! The SMPS San Francisco Bay Area Chapter 2022/2023 board term runs from September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. The incoming board has been planning for the new board year with two virtual strategic planning sessions, reviewing our three-year strategic plan, and creating goals and objectives for the upcoming year.

    Laurie Lumish, CPSM | President
    Director of Marketing & Business Development, Degenkolb Engineers
    Laurie is bringing her “say yes” attitude to the 2022-2023 Presidency. She’s looking forward to helping members and volunteers build their communities of practice in SMPS and find the value of participation. Laurie has been a member of the chapter for 18 years and previously served in roles as Treasurer, Programs Director, CPSM Study Group Leader, and Website Affiliate. She is an experienced A/E/C marketer and business developer dedicated to advocating for and partnering with industry leaders. 
    Favorite Ice Cream: Dulce de Leche.

    Justin Nagy, CPSM | President-Elect
    Marketing Director, Stok
    Justin rejoins the SMPS SFBAC Board as President-Elect, having served previously as Treasurer, Communications Director, and as a volunteer on the Outreach & Development Committee for the Mentoring Pathways Program. Justin is the Marketing Director at Stok, a firm that provides integrated sustainability and high-performance building services to real estate owners and occupiers. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Justin enjoys hiking, mountain biking, camping, and fishing.  
    Favorite Ice Cream: Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia.

    Shannon Daggett, CPSM | Immediate Past President
    Senior Marketing Manager, Langan
    Shannon leads the marketing efforts for Langan, an engineering and environmental consulting firm, for West Coast offices in California, Arizona, and the Pacific Northwest. She has over 20 years of experience, with the past 10 in the A/E/C industry. Before serving as President, she was the Director for the Sponsorship Committee and volunteered on the Outreach & Development and Communication committees. Volunteering through this Chapter has been invaluable in her professional growth. She believes that the more you step outside your comfort zone, the bigger your comfort zone gets.
    Favorite Ice Cream: Vegan, partial to chocolate and peanut butter combo.

    Cathy Kohatsu | Secretary
    Regional Communications Manager, Swinerton
    Cathy is the Regional Communications Manager at Swinerton, a full-service, 100% employee-owned construction company with projects nationwide. With more than 20 years of marketing experience, she continues her second term as Secretary. She has been an active SMPS chapter member serving various roles, including Outreach & Development Director, Treasurer, and Website Administrator.
    Favorite Ice Cream: Mocha Almond Fudge.

    Lillian Martin | Treasurer
    Senior Administrative Manager, Swinerton 
    Lillian joins the board as Treasurer after completing her tenure as Programs Director from 2020-2022. She is excited to continue contributing to SMPS and our members. In her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes and collecting Le Creuset cookware!
    Favorite Ice Cream: Mint Chocolate Chip.

    Nicole Medina, CPSM | Communications Director
    Strategic Pursuits Coordinator, Harris & Associates
    Nicole is a Strategic Pursuits Coordinator at Harris & Associates, a firm that provides planning, funding, environmental, civil design, and construction management services throughout the West Coast. She has volunteered on a couple of committees and is excited to continue in a leadership role on the Communications Committee. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, paddle boarding, reading books, or watching something on TV. 
    Favorite Ice Cream: Banana with brownie, graham cracker crust, and walnuts – or Pistachio if buying from a store.

    Aislinn Rocamora | Membership Director
    Senior Marketing Coordinator, Arup  
    Aislinn is a Senior Marketing Coordinator for Arup, an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants, and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services. She is excited to step into the Membership Director role, having been an active committee member for the past five years. In her downtime, she likes to read, complete jigsaw puzzles, exercise, and hang out with her mini dachshund.
    Favorite Ice Cream: Mint Chocolate Chip with rainbow sprinkles (ice cream just tastes better with rainbow sprinkles).

    Hildegard C. Dodd | Outreach & Development Director
    Business Development & Marketing, Wilson Ihrig
    Hildegard is a business development and marketing professional with 25 years of experience in the A/E/C industry. She has worked at Wilson Ihrig, an acoustics, noise, and vibration consultant firm, for over eight years. She has been an SMPS member since 1998, served on the SFBAC Board in 2005-06, and on the LA Chapter Board in 2006-07, as well as presenting at SMPS Regional and National Conferences. Additional past SFBAC Chapter involvement has included being a Mentor in the Mentoring Pathways program, serving as Co-Chair on the Special Events Committee, and leading the Professional Leader Series in 2014-15. She looks forward to, once again, serving on the SFBAC Board.
    Favorite Ice Cream: Super Duper Vanilla Soft Serve with a Chocolate Dip!

    Jennifer Craig | Programs Director
    Bay Area Marketing Manager, Kleinfelder
    With over 15 years of A/E/C industry experience, Jennifer serves as Kleinfelder's Bay Area Marketing Manager, leading strategic marketing and business development initiatives to support and strengthen Kleinfelder's engineering, design, geotechnical, environmental, and construction materials testing and inspection services to clients in the Bay Area. Jenni joins the Board as Programs Director after previously serving on the Programs Committee as Vice Chair and East Bay Market Share Coordinator. In her free time, Jenni competes nationally on the IceSymmetrics masters synchronized ice skating team and enjoys volunteering for STEM education and clean-up activities in the community.
    Favorite Ice Cream: While I usually opt for some combination of Peanut Butter and Chocolate ice cream of the dairy-free variety, I will always have an undeniable sweet spot for a good, old-fashioned twist cone dipped in chocolate.

    Marion Thatch, FSMPS, CPCC | Chapter Advisor
    Consultant, Distinction in Marketing
    Marion has been a Chapter Advisor for many years. A Past-President and SMPS Fellow, she has been involved with SMPS since 1987 in multiple roles at both the Chapter and Society level. An expert at strategic planning and executive coaching, she is a marketing consultant who provides clients with high- level marketing expertise and training. Marion believes in giving back and enjoys staying active with SMPS to help others grow and become leaders.
    Favorite Ice Cream: Marionberry of course, although I never say no to a Mocha Chocolate combo either.

    Chip Howard | DEI Task Force Lead
    Director of Marketing and Communications, Herrero Builders
    Chip has more than 10 years of experience developing winning proposals, designing brands and templates, and executing creative communications campaigns. She recently joined a top Bay Area General Contractor, Herrero Builders, to lead their communications, competitive pursuits, and grow their brand. Continuing as the Chair of the DEI Taskforce for the SMPS SFBAC, Chip will strive to reshape how we define diversity and inclusion in the A/E/C industry and improve DEI best practices with our Chapter’s mission and goals in mind.
