What led you to the A/E/C industry?
My father. During college, I worked with him while he was building spec homes in Pebble Beach. I was always so fascinated with the process and how he turned empty lots into beautiful homes. I enjoyed working with him and learning from him – it really grew my appreciation and love for construction and building.

Why did you join SMPS and/or why do you continue to be a member?
I joined SMPS to find a community of people in the same industry, with shared experiences that I could lean on, learn from, and hopefully offer the same in return. I continue being a member for the same reasons. There are so many knowledgeable people who I’m still learning from and for that I’m forever grateful for this organization. I can’t recommend it enough for people just starting out in their A/E/C Marketing career.

    What’s your favorite job task?
My favorite part of my job is leading a team and managing the department. We’ve come a long way over the last 5+ years, growing from a team of two to a team of eight. I genuinely love watching my team grow and thrive.

Do you work from home, in the office, or a hybrid?
I’m mainly at home, but we meet as a team in the office every other week.

Is there any vacation spot you recommend?
Japan…or South Africa. My husband and I lived in Kyoto, Japan, while he was building a new packaging facility outside of Kyoto (he’s also in the industry). I loved it. The food, culture, people, and just being able to explore different parts of Japan was an experience of a lifetime. I can’t wait to go back to take our son when he’s old enough. I’d recommend anyone who hasn’t been to consider Japan for their next vacation—reach out, I have lots of recommendations!

Do you have any upcoming vacation plans?
We are going to Vancouver and Whistler in a few weeks and I’m really looking forward to it – I’ve heard it’s supposed to be so beautiful.

What do you like to do most in your free time?
I like to travel and spend time with my 18-month-old son, family, and friends!
