President’s Message – April 2023
Every good idea I have ever had has come from someone else. That is one of the benefits of the community we call SMPS SFBAC. My job is never one that I am doing alone. And that includes my second job as Chapter President.
I am starting spring being grateful for all the good ideas that have come from my SMPS friends and colleagues, and taking a moment to publicly thank the current SMPS SFBAC board of directors for their efforts to build our community and support our members.
My term as Chapter President is only a success thanks to you:
- Justin Nagy, President-Elect, for tireless efforts building next year’s board and demonstrating empathetic leadership.
- Lillian Martin, Treasurer, for keeping chapter operations running smoothly and seamlessly.
- Cathy Kohatsu, Secretary, for herding cats and perseverance.
- Shannon Daggett, Immediate Past President, for championing excellence in marketing and service.
- Nicole Medina, Communications Director, for keeping our members regularly informed and up to date on all chapter happenings.
- Aislinn Rocamora, Membership Director, for bringing us together as a community.
- Hildegard Dodd, Outreach & Development Director, for challenging us to do more.
- Jennifer Craig, Programs Director, for committing during hard times.
When you see me and ask how I am doing everything I do, I assure you I am not doing it alone. These individuals are making our chapter hum throughout the year with more than 30 events and happenings.
More than 60 of our chapter members serve in volunteer roles, everything from brainstorming programs to staffing registration desks.
