    President's Message - December 2023

I hope this message finds you well amidst this mad dash toward the end of 2023. The final weeks of the year often present a gauntlet of proposal deadlines and networking events that can test even the most resilient marketers. We find the energy to get through it by drawing on the joy of connection with friends and family. Our chapter’s Holiday Luncheon last week was a great example of this. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the Membership Committee and all our event volunteers for orchestrating an outstanding experience.

It was heartwarming to see both long-term and new members coming together, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and enthusiasm. The event was not only a festive celebration, but also a shining example of the value that stems from the connections we build within our chapter. Witnessing the exchange of ideas, experiences, and laughter reaffirmed for me the strength of our professional community.

Before we get to the end of the year, we have even more connection opportunities to offer members. Next week we have a (free!) virtual education program, Partners in Profitability, where marketing and finance leaders from one of the Bay Area’s largest engineering firms will share insights for success with this critical partnership. This program is well timed for those of us tasked with tracking returns on investment and preparing annual budgets.

Also on tap, our always popular Business Leaders Forum program is open for registration. This peer-to-peer group program offers unparalleled opportunities to connect with other experienced professionals and share best practices and market insights. Sign up for our regional groups in San Francisco, the East Bay, the South Bay, or our new virtual meeting group.

As we reflect on the past year and look ahead to new opportunities, let's carry this spirit of connection with us. Our chapter is a vibrant community of marketing professionals, and each one of you helps fuel that fire. If you haven't had a chance to meet someone new in SMPS, I encourage you to do so at our upcoming events or by volunteering for a committee.

As we wrap up 2023, I'm excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for our chapter. Your dedication and engagement continue to elevate our community, and I am grateful for each and every one of you.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season and looking forward to more shared moments in the coming year!
