Member Spotlight: Gloria Aguilar
Each month we try to feature a Chapter member, asking them about SMPS and more. Find out below how Gloria got into the A/E/C industry and her favorite TV show, restaurant, and much more!
What led you to the A/E/C industry?
Growing up, there were always construction workers in my family, and I started my journey in college by my dad’s side as his assistant taper. I went to study business and later marketing at UOP and then came back to my first passion, contributing my growing knowledge to construction.
Why did you join SMPS?
I joined SMPS because I wanted to join a wide network of marketing professionals that were in different phases in their career. I enjoy being in other organizations like CREW and BOMA but have found that SMPS was specific to my interest in the A/E/C industry. Starting off as a marketing professional, I know that if I ever have a question, or want to throw some ideas out, I can reach out to a member and connect!
What is your favorite job task?
Networking! Going to organizational events, meeting new people, and growing connections has been the most surprising yet best part of my job.
