    Notable Projects
From landmark projects that have shaped the Bay Area to complex work underway today, Nibbi's portfolio reflects both the depth of our experience and where we're headed next.

Exploratorium | San Francisco, CA | $152 million

The transformation of historic Pier 15 into the Exploratorium's waterfront home is one of Nibbi's most recognizable San Francisco projects. The 422,166-square-foot project involved the extensive rehabilitation of the existing pier and historic structure to create a highly interactive museum and learning environment.

Designed with ambitious sustainability goals, the project incorporates a 1.3-megawatt photovoltaic system and is a net-zero energy facility. The Exploratorium demonstrates Nibbi's experience navigating complex construction, historic rehabilitation, sustainability, and work along San Francisco's waterfront.

SFO Air Traffic Control Tower | San Francisco International Airport | $2.6 million

Nibbi's history at SFO spans decades and includes work in several capacities across the airport campus. At the Air Traffic Control Tower, Nibbi Concrete provided structural concrete services, demonstrating the specialized, hands-on building expertise that continues to distinguish Nibbi today.

ElevenEleven Residences | San Francisco, CA | $136.5 million

Currently under construction, ElevenEleven Residences is a 22-story, 303-unit mixed-income residential development. With few new high-rise residential projects moving forward in San Francisco, the project is a notable addition to the city's housing landscape. Nibbi Concrete is self-performing the project's structural concrete, including a nearly 4,000-cubic-yard mat foundation pour completed in approximately 12 hours in February 2026.

SFO West Field Utilities, Paving & Station BP | San Francisco International Airport | $150.2 million

Nibbi is delivering a major Progressive Design-Build infrastructure program at SFO that modernizes critical utility, roadway, electrical, and communications systems while maintaining airport operations. The work reflects Nibbi's growing portfolio in aviation and infrastructure and targets Envision Gold certification.

330 Distel Circle | Los Altos, CA | $60 million

330 Distel Circle combines two innovative construction methods in a single 90-unit residential development, featuring volumetric modular units atop a cross-laminated timber (CLT) mass-timber podium. The first-of-its-kind combination in the United States reflects Nibbi's growing expertise in modular and mass timber construction, with Nibbi SPS providing all on-site modular and CLT/mass-timber setting for the project.

Balboa Reservoir Infrastructure | San Francisco, CA | $31 million

Nibbi is delivering nearly $33 million in infrastructure improvements to prepare the 3.78-acre site for the first phase of the Balboa Reservoir development. The work includes a new street network and infrastructure to support future residential development, as well as a centrally located open space, helping lay the groundwork for the site's next chapter.

Golden Gate Village Revitalization | Marin City, CA  | $150 million

Nibbi is partnering with Burbank Housing and the Marin Housing Authority on the two-phase, $150 million revitalization of Golden Gate Village, a historic Marin City community listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The work will rehabilitate 249 homes through major building and site upgrades, sustainability enhancements, and historic preservation measures, while carefully sequencing construction to minimize impacts to residents.

Hawthorn Senior Apartments | San Jose, CA | $65 million

Completed in May 2026, the $65 million Hawthorn Senior Apartments is a 103-unit senior housing community and the first phase of the Santa Clara County Housing Authority’s larger East Santa Clara development.  Hawthorn includes resident amenities, community spaces, and 20 permanent supportive housing units for formerly homeless seniors. Nibbi’s work on the larger development continues with Trillium Senior Apartments, Sage Apartments, and Elderberry Apartments, extending the company’s involvement across multiple phases.

What differentiates Nibbi Brothers General Contractors in terms of approach, talent, tools, values?

At Nibbi, being a builder is central to the company's approach to its work. As the company has grown, Nibbi has expanded both its market expertise and in-house building capabilities, including dedicated Aviation and Infrastructure divisions and specialized teams focused on structural concrete, self-perform construction, prefabrication, and modular construction.

Nibbi Concrete, established in 2005, self-performs structural concrete. Nibbi SPS, formed in 2020, has expanded those capabilities with more than 100 skilled carpenters and laborers performing rough and finish carpentry; doors, frames, and hardware; module setting; and other key scopes. NibbiPrefab brings prefabrication and modular expertise to the planning process, helping project teams evaluate constructability, cost, schedule, logistics, and risk early on. Together, these in-house capabilities give Nibbi greater control over quality, schedule, and cost while bringing practical building knowledge into projects from the earliest stages.

Nibbi's greatest differentiator, however, is its people and the culture they've built. That culture reflects the company's family roots and the long-standing relationships Nibbi has built with clients, design partners, trade partners, and communities over more than 75 years. Collaboration extends across the entire company, with operations and support teams working closely together and bringing different perspectives to the table. Whether building projects in the field, pursuing the next opportunity, telling Nibbi's story, or supporting the business behind the scenes, employees have opportunities to contribute, learn, and grow. As Nibbi continues to expand, the company remains committed to developing its people and creating opportunities for employees to grow their careers alongside the company.
